Independent claims

What is actually asserted, verbatim.

Claim 1

1. A method for ionospheric Radio Frequency (RF) transmission of a message in a High Frequency (HF) band to a remote receiving device, the method comprising: receiving a request for a particular action to be performed; encoding a particular value using a format derived to effect message latency into an encoded message for transmission to the remote receiving device over a frequency in an ionospheric HF frequency band, wherein the particular value is known a priori to the remote receiving device as corresponding to the particular action; determining transmission parameters for transmission of the encoded message in the ionospheric HF frequency band based at least on (a) message latency and on (b) a predefined channel bandwidth; and transmitting the encoded message in the ionospheric HF frequency band according to the determined transmission parameters to the remote receiving device.

Claim 8

8. A system for low latency wireless transmission of messages to a remote receiving device, the system comprising: means for receiving a request for a particular action to be performed and for encoding a particular value using a format derived to effect message latency into a message for transmission to the remote receiving device over a frequency in an High Frequency (HF) band, wherein the particular value is known a priori to the remote receiving device as corresponding to the particular action; means for determining transmission parameters for the low latency wireless transmission of the message through at least a portion of an ionospheric layer and/or a tropospheric layer based at least on (a) message latency and on (b) a predefined channel bandwidth; and means for transmitting the message according to the determined transmission parameters to the remote receiving device through at least a portion of an ionospheric layer and/or a tropospheric layer.

Claim 16

16. A device for transmitting messages to a remote receiving device, the device comprising: at least one memory and at least one processing circuit, wherein the at least one memory and the at least one processing circuit are respectively configured to store and execute instructions for causing the device to perform operations for transmitting the messages to the remote receiving device, the operations comprising: receiving a request for performance of a particular action; encoding a particular value using a format derived to effect message latency into an encoded message for transmission to the remote receiving device over a frequency in an ionospheric High Frequency (HF) frequency band, wherein the particular value is known a priori to the remote receiving device as corresponding to the particular action; determining transmission parameters for the wireless transmission of the encoded message to the remote receiving device based at least on (a) message latency and on (b) a predefined channel bandwidth; controlling a transmitter that sends the encoded message to the remote receiving device based at least on the determined transmission parameters.

Abstract

Technology for wireless transmission of messages to remote receiving devices is disclosed. The technology includes receiving a message for transmission, determining transmission parameters for transmission of the message, and transmitting the message to a remote receiving device according to the determined transmission parameters. The technology may also include encoding the message to effect message latency and may be employed for message transmission via the ionosphere or other atmospheric layer at frequencies in the Medium Frequency (MF), High Frequency (HF), or Very High Frequency (VHF) spectrum. Further, the disclosed technology may be employed for message transmission to effect low latency financial transaction execution, such as high speed high frequency trading.
